How to reverse the page order of a PDF

  1. 01

    Choose your PDF

Drop in the file with the pages in the wrong order. Files up to 50MB are supported, and nothing is uploaded.

  2. 02

    Pages are reversed

The last page moves to the front, the first to the back, and everything in between follows. Each page keeps its content and orientation.

  3. 03

    Download the result

The reversed PDF downloads instantly. Run it through again to get the original order back.

Fix a PDF that was scanned backwards

Many document feeders and copiers scan the stack from the bottom up, or you load the pages face up when the scanner expects them face down. The result is a PDF that starts with the last page and ends with the cover.

Instead of dragging forty pages into place one by one, reverse the whole file in a single step. The page content is not touched - only the order changes.

Other times you need pages in reverse order

Some printers stack output face up, so a long document comes out last page on top. Printing a reversed copy gives you a stack in reading order without re-sorting by hand.

Reversing also helps when you merge files that were collected newest-first, such as statements or email exports, and want them oldest-first - or the other way around.

Private by design

The PDF is reordered entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, stored, or seen by a server, so it is safe for contracts, medical records, and other confidential scans.

Links, bookmarks, and form fields stay attached to their pages. It is free, with no watermark and no sign up.

Frequently asked questions

Does reversing change the page content?

No. Only the order of the pages changes. Text, images, page size, and rotation stay exactly as they were. Custom page labels (such as roman numerals for the front matter) are removed, because they would no longer match the pages - viewers then simply number the pages 1, 2, 3.

Can I reorder pages manually instead?

Yes. If you need a custom order rather than a straight reversal, use the free Organize pages tool, where you can drag each page into place.

Is this the same as inverting a PDF's colors?

No. Reversing changes the order of the pages. Inverting swaps light and dark colors, for example to get a dark-mode PDF - for that, use the Invert PDF colors tool.

How do I undo the reversal?

Reverse the downloaded file again and the pages are back in their original order. Your original file is never changed anyway.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The whole process runs in your browser, and the file never leaves your device.
